the strands of destiny are only ever as strong as we allow them to be

Name: Patrick
Nicknames: Patch, Tommy boy, Patty, Crabby Patty, Patty-cakes
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Birthdate: 08/21/1988
Height: 6'4" (too lazy to convert to metrics)

Likes: Moving at my own pace, basking in the sun, civilized debate, the written word
Dislikes: Condescension, holier-than-thou types, the glorification of the obscene
Hobbies: Getting lost in my own mythology, drawing others into existential conversations
Talents: Playing guitar, putting things off until the last minute and still succeeding, making a fool of myself
Strong Points: Patient, a good listener, helpful, receptive
Weak Points: Easily deluded, bad dancer, despises children
Favorite Color? Why?:  Light blue.  It's a soothing color.

Mature or Immature?:  A difficult question.  I've been told for most of my life that I seem very mature for my age, but I don't think I am.  I'm still very much the grace-deprived spazz I was as a teenager.
Leader or Follower?:  More and more often, I fall into a leader role, as I can't stand indecisive people.  I'll take charge by default if nothing is getting done.  However, if someone else wants to call the shots, I don't mind letting them, so long as they don't ram the group into the ground.
Would you side with the Dragons of Heaven or the Dragons of Earth? Why?:  Another difficult question.  The human life is quite short and woefully inconsequential.  We live.  We die.  And what do we have to show for it?  A Carbon foot print?  A brief glimmer of fame before we pass into the cool, lasting night as the sun sets on our lives?  Human life amounts to very little, whatever we might try to tell ourselves otherwise.  Then again, countless people have lived, toiled, and died for the lives we all enjoy.  It would seem an insult to defy all of those sacrifices because of my own nihilistic streak.  If nothing else, I'm not in a hurry to give up my own, dear life (as selfish as that is), so I would likely side with the Heavens for the sake of the people who came before and could come afterward.  I might be a cynic, but that doesn't give me the right to ruin it for everyone else.
If you were in X/1999, what would your 'wish' be? Why?:  That the walls of misundertanding between people might one day fall, if only between two people, if only for a moment.

That seems a noble goal to strive for, don't you think?

Favorite Character? Why?:  Kamui.  I have a profound respect for his ability to forgive Fuuma for his heinous actions.  I doubt I would have it in me to forgive the things he did.  I would be less concerned with the chains of fate and more concerned with the blood on his hands and the urge to avenge it.  Really, though, it's simply tenacity.  He sinks into despair from time-to-time, but at the end of the day, he always stands up to do what must be done.
Favorite Pairing? Why?:  Kamui/Kotori.  I know it's far from popular, but those two clicked on a level I haven't seen in any other romantic combination.  Yuuto and Kanoe is entirely physical.  Seishiro and Subaru is too bitter and twisted to enjoy on any real level.  Fuuma and Kamui came off as brothers before the change, as it was only after the Choice that Fuuma took on the bizarre, erotic edge he uses to torture Kamui.  Fuuma's face-stroking and neck-licking seem more like ways of inflicting emotional and mental trauma than expressing interest.

Kamui and Kotori, on the other hand, seemed to be moving toward a sincere, nurturing romance before Fuuma went Biblical.  They have the childhood marriage proposal, which is so often shorthand for "main couple" in anime and manga.  Kamui's veneer of hostility quickly begins to flake away the more time he spends with Kotori.  Sorata has the rather blatant line about how the future rides on Kotori's shoulders because Kamui is so devoted to her.  They even show up together on the Lovers tarot card.  CLAMP was laying it on pretty thick.

People like to talk about how "canon" relationships are.  Next to Seishiro and Subaru, who have an entire manga dedicated to them, Kamui and Kotori seem to have the most ammunition in that fight.

Anything else?:  I recently started an X fanfic that flips the script, with the Angels being recast as Dragons of Heaven and the Seals appearing as Dragons of Earth.  It was inspired by Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, which shifts Kamui's posse to Fuuma and vice versa.  The first thought was to make Kamui a Dragon of Earth, but the idea has been done before, so I left the twin stars where they were and changed everything else around them.  Besides, things like Seal Seishiro and Angel Aoki sound like too much fun to pass up.

You know, just to give you an idea of how far gone I am as an X fan.  If you start ficcing it, you're neck deep in the fandom.

I see a lot of Yuuto, particularly in the way you expressed a lot of your answers, although I also hints of Karen.

You are a difficult one. I see something of Aoki, Yuuto and Karen. You're mature, like all three of them, you're patient, like the three, you're a good listener and...perhaps you have more of Yuuto and Karen for the good advisor part, but the glorification of the obscene is very very tied to both of them, whereas Aoki comes across as more pure, like you. But then, you don't like children, and Aoki could run a kindergartenXD...
I'm gonna go with Karen, because the way you write and your respect for Kamui and past generations sounds very much like her
